Do a Little Introspection with me

Do a little introspection with me, it’s been a late night. Your friends are finally going home at 1 in the morning and while you had a great time dread fills you. It’s already 1am and there are still dishes to be done, laundry to be put up and a shower to be taken. You face the option of doing the work now which means being up even later or putting it off until tomorrow. No matter the decision you make there is an air of dread, of “I don’t want to”, of, dare I say, laziness.

Introspection - Laziness - Homemaker

We all have faced this moment. While I can not speak for everyone I know that I have struggled to overcome this feeling and so I would give in. I would put it off, or sleep in which would mess my day up and put me in a foul mood. A foul mood that I allowed myself to fall into. All because I had the attitude of laziness. I invite you all to tackle this spirit of the sluggard, slothfulness or more commonly known as laziness. Being a Sluggard, or lazy has never done anybody any good. It messes with our attitude, our productivity, our mental health, and overall our lives.

Here are a few verses that speak on slothfulness and the sluggard.

Proverbs 20:4 – The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing

Proverbs 13:4 – The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat

Proverbs 12:24 – The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
